Chris Russell

grew up in West Gardiner, Maine. In 1986, while attending the University of Maine at Orono, he moved to the area to become a whitewater rafting guide.  Since then, he helped to create the rafting company Adventure Bound, an outdoor adventure resort for kids and young adults based in Caratunk. With the help of a couple close friends, he has also created Kennebec River Angler, a fishing guiding business based in The Forks area. Chris holds a B.S. Degree in Wildlife Management, a Master Maine Guide’s license, a Level II whitewater guide license, and he sat on the Maine Whitewater Guide Advisory Council for over 10 years. He and his wife Cindy live in Caratunk with their Brittany Spaniel named Brookie. They have a camp on Indian Pond with direct views of Mt Kineo and the Spencer Mountains. Chris feels it’s an honor and privilege to sit on this Steering Committee, to help protect an area and culture that he has enjoyed for over 30 years.
